Nelson & Associates Launches Program to Benefit Regional Nonprofits

Reputable Charities Receive 5% of New Business Profits

Nelson & Associates, the business division of Nelson specializing in finance and accounting recruiting, has developed a partnership program that directly benefits local non-profit organizations. Non-profit groups are feeling the impact of a weak economy and struggling nationwide to keep donations in line with program costs. A concurrent effect of the economy is an increased need for the services these groups provide. Just like their for-profit counterparts, non-profit groups are being forced to conduct layoffs and reduce services.

To offer assistance, for the remainder of 2009 participating Nelson & Associates offices will donate 5% of new business profits to regional charities. This is a great opportunity for businesses to support local non-profits while getting their own staffing needs met as all new requests for temporary or direct hire employees will be included in the program. Each donation will be made in the client company’s name.

“At Nelson & Associates, we believe that positive, community-focused efforts lead to success, ” says Sara Boyd, Senior Vice President. “This is a perfect time to put that idea into action, and to direct it towards the organizations that work tirelessly to support their local populations.”

“It’s a nice bonus that this program gives our client companies an easy way to give back to their communities,” Boyd adds.

Two of the seven Nelson & Associates locations—Sacramento and Santa Rosa—have already initiated their donation programs. The former has chosen Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services (SFBFS), Sacramento Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA) and Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Sacramento as its partner organizations. Proceeds from the Santa Rosa office will go to Committee on the Shelterless (COTS), Big Brothers Big Sisters of the North Bay and The Marin Humane Society. Each of these charities serves an important population within its community and will receive much needed funding as a result of the campaign. Nelson & Associates also has offices in Pleasant Hill, Pleasanton, San Francisco, San Jose and San Rafael.

The 5% profit donations will be recorded from June 1, 2009 through December 31, 2009 and presented to each charity in January of 2010.
